Scope

This policy covers cookies, local storage, session storage and similar browser mechanisms used by Rankerd’s marketing website, tutor service and public student attempt experience. It should be read with the Privacy Policy.

What cookies and browser storage are

A cookie is a small value sent to a browser. Local or session storage keeps values in the browser. These mechanisms can remember a signed-in session, a security state or a preference. They can also be cleared from browser settings. The exact production names and domains must be confirmed before this document is final.

Essential authentication and security

Essential storage may support sign-in, refresh-token or session handling, CSRF protection, fraud prevention, rate limiting and other functions needed to deliver a secure service. These mechanisms are not optional when the requested feature depends on them.

Preference storage

Rankerd may store choices such as a dismissed interface prompt, a selected view or accessibility preference when the feature needs to remember it. No named preference keys were verified in the marketing source, so the production inventory must be audited before publication.

Analytics

The audited marketing source contains an optional window.rankerdAnalytics event bridge but no configured analytics provider or consent banner. This page therefore does not claim that optional analytics cookies are active. If a provider is enabled, its name, purposes, cookie names, retention, regional transfers and consent controls must be added before release.

Contact and demo forms

Contact and Malaysia demo forms use normal form fields, a honeypot and server-side rate limiting. The marketing source did not show a named cookie used by those forms. Server logs, email delivery and lead records are covered by the Privacy Policy, not by a browser cookie claim.

Third-party storage

Google authentication, PayPal checkout, email delivery, hosting and any AI provider may set or access storage in their own flows. Their names, domains and purposes must be confirmed from the production configuration and linked notices. Rankerd cannot control storage set directly by a third party.

Cookie and storage table

The following is the verified inventory from the audited marketing source. It intentionally avoids inventing cookie names. Production owners must replace the “not identified” rows with the exact names and durations before publication.

Retention and expiry

Essential session values normally expire when a session ends, a token expires or the account signs out, but exact durations were not verified. Preference and optional analytics durations must be confirmed from production configuration. Clearing storage does not delete server-side account or assignment records.

Managing storage

Most browsers let you inspect, block or delete cookies and site storage. Browser controls vary by device. You can also use private browsing, but this may prevent sign-in or other features from working.

If essential storage is disabled

Sign-in, assignment access, security checks or saved preferences may not work. Disabling a required mechanism does not stop the server from processing information needed to provide a feature you request.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

The audited source did not verify handling for Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. Do not state that either signal is honoured until the production consent implementation is confirmed.

Updates

We will update this policy when storage, analytics or legal requirements change. The effective date, version and exact inventory should be updated at the same time.
